It's likely the Prince wanted to play his baryton with more than just the viola and cello trios -- of which Haydn wrote 123.

Thus, there exists several "divertimenti" for an enlarged string group and two horns. No problem, Haydn just kept churning 'em out ...

At some later date, when the baryton had disappeared from the scene, someone arranged this one for an ensemble with a flute:
