CDIII. BARTÓK, Béla: There Are Waters at Debrecen

CDIII. BARTÓK, Béla (1881-1945)

There Are Waters at Debrecen
Erzébet Török, soprano
István Hajdú, piano
(2:16)

There are waters at Debrecen
Their name is Hortobágy
There is a stone bridge there
Nine holes were left in the bridge

Pieta Bogár was a handsome lad
His dolman had seven metal buttons on it
His trouser belt had seven holes in it
Ah, what a splendid lad he was!

He even crossed the Kőrös
He died in it forever
Poplar leaf, willow leaf
All are swept by the wind
