CDXLI. HAYDN, Franz Joseph: Sonata for Piano #39 in D Major

CDXLI. HAYDN, Franz Joseph (1732-1809)

Sonata for Piano #39 in D Major (1773)
1. Allegro
2. Adagio
3. Presto
Sviatoslav Richter, piano
(14:44)

First movement

Second movement

Parallel minor (D) until Bar 9 -- an unprepared modulation to F Major (red arrow) and later a nice deceptive cadence (blue arrow):

Third movement

D Major: a bouncy Presto. Huge G#-diminished seventh chord in first inversion (vii°⁶/V) before the Coda.
