CDXXXVIII. DES PREZ, Josquin (c. 1450-1521)
Whether or not Josquin actually studied with Ockeghem [see Post CXXIX] is open to debate, but he certainly knew and respected him.
We studied Josquin extensively in music history; he was so important in his many innovations of the time, just short of the Baroque period.
This homage is filled with beautiful polyphony and classy part-writing.
