Licht is subtitled Die sieben Tage der Woche (The Seven Days of the Week). It is a cycle of seven operas composed between 1977 and 2003. The composer describes the work as an "eternal spiral" because "there is neither end nor beginning to the week." Licht consists of 29 hours of music.

Samstag consists of the following sections:

  1. Saturday Greeting (Lucifer's Greeting)
  2. Lucifer's Dream
  3. Kathinka's Chant (as Lucifer's Requiem)
