Suite #2 for Small Orchestra (1921)

(8:23)

Originally a pedagogical work for piano four hands entitled Three Easy Pieces (1915). Stravinsky referred to this version as "popcorn."

Next came a transcription for cimbalom and cimbalom and small ensemble; then a version of the March for 12 instruments and the Waltz for seven.

Finally, Stravinsky made this version, adding the Galop.

**

The music is reminiscent of certain sections of Petroushka and Pulcinella.
