First movement
An eight-bar phrase -- the first two a rather banal B-Flat arpeggio, but the next two bars -- a fast, trilling figure played p by the violins -- provide great contrast, and notice how Mozart raises these two bars up a major third by transposing the two parts!
Second movement
Moving to the subdominant (E-Flat), Mozart again begins with a simple arpeggiated triad, but then a plaintive descending scale motif in the flutes and violins is pure magic! It sounds like gently falling snowflakes.
Mozart repeats the dynamic play of the opening movement (2 bars f, 2 bars p) in this brisk, short finale:
