CMLXXXVII. MOZART, Wolfgang Amadeus: String Quartet #23 in F Major, K. 590

CMLXXXVII. MOZART, Wolfgang Amadeus (1756-1791)

String Quartet #23 in F Major, K. 590 (1790)
1. Allegro moderato
2. Andante
3. Menuetto: Allegretto
4. Allegro
Schubert String Quartet
(28:19)

Among the amazing moments in this quartet is this marvel from the end of the exposition of the fourth movement:

First violin playing groups of three (A/G/F-Sharp); second in a dissonant seesaw between D-Sharp and E; and the viola playing an open-stringed hurdy-gurdy sound!
