First movement
A simple seven-note subject is elaborately introduced in the keyboard, while the violin plays long-held single notes. The material is pushed into new keys, like A-Flat Major, D-Flat Major, and C Minor.
The climax is perhaps reached in this high B-Flat in the violin part, moving back to the minor tonic.

Third movement
With a complete lack of normal melody, the violin plays in double-stops against a steadily-moving flow of 32nd-notes. The C Minor tonic key moves craftily to other key centers, including E-Flat Major and G Minor.
