From his important, groundbreaking work in the late 50's and early 60's (see Threnody, Post XIX), Penderecki gradually returned to tonality.

Sacred music was always extremely important to him, along side his symphonies and chamber music -- and this simple movement from the Mass is a piece of joy.

These young women do a fantastic job, too.
