CMXCI. BEETHOVEN, Ludwig van: Ecossaise in E-Flat Major, WoO 86

CMXCI. BEETHOVEN, Ludwig van (1770-1827)

Ecossaise in E-Flat Major, WoO 86 (1825)
Gianluca Cascioli, piano
(0:28)

Included in the "trifles" category (mostly silly canons) of the year 1825 -- when Beethoven was deep into writing three of the great Lates -- Op. 127, Op. 130 (still w/the fugue [Op. 133]) and Op. 132 -- he tossed off this simple little nothing to be published in a collection of dances. People will buy anything.

Seriously, it's nice to know that LvB take a break from composing actual music to drop in a hit dance track!
